Atlanta VAMC Health Services Research & Development (HSR&D)


The Atlanta VA HSR&D Program encompasses shared core resources in Data Management, Database Retrieval, and Biostatistics to provide services to a cadre of ~40 HSR&D investigators and others throughout the Atlanta VAMC. The Atlanta VA HSR program has a strong focus on quality, costs and outcomes of care and disease areas include diabetes, cancer, infectious diseases, geriatrics, and surgical interventions. Priority areas addressed in HSR&D for 2011 are: health disparities; chronic disease management; women's health; informatics; and genomic health. Atlanta VA HSR research is funded by Veterans Health Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NIH, other federal agencies, and private foundations and industry.
